Fifty-Six Units Tall
A rewritten Quake-style player bounding box, Havok WASM physics, an in-game map loading overlay, and a ledge grab that stopped firing on 45-degree ramps.
The Bounding Box, Finally Correct
bbox: -24 (feet) to +32 (head) total height 56 units
origin: 24 units above feet
view height: 26 from origin = 50 from feetFixes stair stepping bug where the camera got stuck low when walking into stairs.
Fifty-six units is the number every Quake movement value in this project is tuned against — and it is still the number in v0.9.21's collision work, where floating resting players turn out to be sitting exactly 16 units too high because of a head half-height of 40 measured against a foot of 24.
Havok
Havok WASM physics for the map and for pickups, in a browser engine. Ledge grab gained slope detection so it requires a vertical wall and stops firing on 45-degree ramps.
Loading Without Leaving The Game
A MapLoadingOverlay with the animated smoke background from v0.6.1, console-style messages, the engine logo, an auto fade-out and a minimum display time so the screen does not flash.
LoadingAnimation was extracted from the startup loading screen into something configurable — palettes SHAG, FIRE, ICE, MONO. LoadingEvents shipped with a loading:start|progress|complete lifecycle and an extensible type: 'map' | 'assets' | 'save' | 'network' | 'generic'.
Weapons Started Moving
Plasmagun "Tilt & Pump" reload, dynamic reloads respecting weapon.reloadTime, dampened view bob during reload, and recoil fixed to kick backward on the Z axis with pitch intensity tuned to 20%.
Spectator mode is forced on map load, and assets preload during it.
Known Issues: none stated.
